*Sparks Group Honors Contributions of Temporary and Contract Employees to the Washington, DC Area’s Economy, as part of 2016 National Staffing Employee Week*

**Rockville, MD, September 20, 2016**— Sparks Group (formerly SPARKS and Sparks IT Solutions), headquartered in Rockville, MD is joining staffing firms from across the United States in celebrating National Staffing Employee Week, Sept. 19–Sept. 25. Established by the American Staffing Association, this commemorative week honors the millions of temporary and contract employees working for U.S. staffing firms each week.

In Maryland (43,000 employees) and Virginia (59,000 employees), temporary and contract employees comprise a large base of the weekly workforce. These positions are across all industry sectors and professions, and the majority are full-time. These jobs also can lead to permanent work, according to ASA research. In fact, permanent employment is a top motivation for choosing this line of work, and one in five cite scheduling flexibility as a key reason for choosing staffing, according to the ASA Staffing Employee Survey.
